State advocacy grants
The AADA's State Advocacy Grant Program provides financial assistance to state dermatology societies for the advancement of their health policy initiatives, including state lobbying expenses. The AADA State Advocacy Grant Program will offer to state dermatology societies two different types of applications, the Established Advocacy Grant and the Development Advocacy Grant. Find out more about each grant below to determine which best suits your state society.
Grants are allocated on an annual basis. Completed applications are reviewed by the AADA State Policy Committee and are approved by the AADA Council on Government Affairs and Health Policy (GAHP Council).
Development Advocacy Grant: States that qualify for this grant are newer to advocacy, having received either no previous State Advocacy Grants or a maximum of two previous grants. The application requires fewer documents and is scored using different criteria to encourage less experienced state societies to apply and build an advocacy program.
Established Advocacy Grant: States that qualify for this grant have received more than two AADA advocacy grant awards and already have a robust advocacy program, but need extra financial support from the AADA. The application process for this grant is the same as previous years.
Application timeline: Both grant applications open on June 30, 2022 and close September 30, 2022.
