Public health partnership: Resident International Grant Program
The Resident International Grant Program aims to expand the access to dermatologic care for patient populations located in underserved areas. Fifteen dermatology residents from the United States and Canada dermatology residents complete an international elective in Botswana, Peru, South Africa and Nepal, educating primary healthcare workers on the basics of dermatology and helping develop a year-round teledermatology network. Since its inception, more than 4,000 patients have benefitted from the Resident International Grant Program. Recognition for these programs may include logo placement in correspondence to grant recipients, web-based application, AAD website and AAD publications.
